Cookie Policy
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We also use local storage, which works much the same way, so this policy covers both. Read it together with our Privacy Policy.
Your choices
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies and storage are always on, because the parts of the site that need them can't run without them. We load anything non-essential only if you choose Accept. If you decline, nothing non-essential loads, and we remove any non-essential cookies set through this site that we can access. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, and you can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
Cookies, storage and third-party services
- Consent preference ("babade_cookie_consent"). We store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again. It stays until you clear your browser data, and it updates if you change your choice. Strictly necessary.
- Admin login. A session cookie used only by staff who sign in to edit the site. Ordinary visitors never receive it. Strictly necessary.
- Booking (ResDiary). The booking form on our Book page is an embedded frame served by ResDiary. ResDiary may set cookies inside that frame, and so may its payment provider if a card is needed to secure your booking. Those cookies belong to their service and are covered by their own privacy and cookie policies, not ours.
- Gift vouchers (VoucherConnect). Voucher sales happen on VoucherConnect's own site, under its own cookie policy. Nothing is set on this site; you just follow a link there.
Analytics and advertising
We don't currently use analytics or advertising tools. The site is already set up so that if Google tools are ever added, they're told consent is denied unless you've accepted. If we introduce analytics or advertising, we'll update this policy before using them.
